January - NEW President's Message

                                                      New President’s Message
Hello Dear Friends,
Happy New Year!!! I hope that you all had a “Gemütlichkeit” (warm and friendly) holiday season, filled with friends and family. Carrie and I just returned from a visit to the Christmas Markets in Germany. We began our tour by staying again with our good friends (whom we initially met when they hosted us during our Friendship Force San Diego club’s visit to Lübeck Germany in 2009). They in turn introduced us to their (and now our new) friends in Aachen, Germany, (who also hosted us for a night there).

As soon as I put this newsletter to press, I (with a little help from Rick Steves) will put together a nice program for our January Meeting, telling you all about “Christmas in Europe”. I hope you can join us. Between now and then, your new Board of Directors will be hard at work planning a fantastic new year of fun activities, new initiatives and fiscally responsible fund raisers, (many of which were suggested by YOU!). But WE NEED YOUR HELP to keep this the vibrantly fun group that we all fell in love with. So step-up and volunteer, to get more involved and enjoy closer relationships! Friendship Force International is changing too.

We are welcomed by our new President/CEO, Jeremi Snook, in this video: There are new policies and initiatives coming from Atlanta for us to embrace. To learn more, visit the Friendship Force International Website. Particularly, if you are interested in attending the September 16-19, 2016 World Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, (Trip Advisor’s 2015 "Top Destination"), Registration opens in January. Also new, are our Friendship Force Western Region Field Representatives Pat Ghiglieri and Marty McKnew, (both past-presidents of the Sacramento club).
